Terms of Use, Disclaimer & Privacy Policy (Beta Phase)

Welcome to pricefinder.in, owned and operated by PriceFinder Technologies (a unit of MK Group). We are a neighborhood price discovery, comparison, and directory platform currently in our Public Beta Phase.

By using this website—whether to search for prices, list your business, place enquiries, or connect with vendors—you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our services.

1. Important: Beta Phase Disclaimer

This platform is currently in “Beta.”

  • What this means: The website, features, and services are still under testing and development. You may experience occasional bugs, downtime, or data inaccuracies.

  • No Warranty: The services are provided on an “As Is” and “As Available” basis. We do not guarantee that the site will be error-free or uninterrupted.

  • Right to Change: We reserve the right to modify features, fees (e.g., lead costs), or policies at any time without prior notice.

  • Data Continuity: During the Beta phase, data such as listings, order history, or user submissions may be modified, reset, or removed without notice as part of our testing process.

2. Who We Are (Marketplace vs. Direct Sales)

pricefinder.in operates primarily as an information bridge, but we also sell select products directly. It is important to distinguish who you are buying from:

A. Third-Party Vendors (The Majority)

  • Intermediary Role: For most listings, pricefinder.in connects you with local vendors. In these cases, we are NOT the seller, delivery partner, or payment processor.

  • Default Assumption: If a listing is not explicitly marked as “PriceFinder Official” (or similar), it must be assumed to be a third-party vendor listing.

B. Direct Sales by PriceFinder

  • Identified Listings: Some products or services may be sold directly by us. These will be clearly marked as sold by PriceFinder Official.

  • Our Responsibility: For these specific items only, pricefinder.in takes responsibility for product quality and delivery.

  • Return Policy: Returns for “PriceFinder Official” items are accepted within 3 days of delivery if the item is damaged or different from the description. Refunds will be processed to the original payment mode within 5-7 business days after the item is received back.

3. Lead Generation & Enquiries

We provide forms for users to request services or products.

  • Lead Assignment: When you submit an enquiry, pricefinder.in reserves the full right to verify the request and assign it to a relevant vendor. We do not guarantee that every request will receive a response.

  • For Vendors: We may charge a fee to share lead contact details with you. However, pricefinder.in does not guarantee that a lead will convert into a sale. We verify leads to the best of our ability to filter spam, but we are not responsible for the outcome of the interaction.

4. Vendor Directory, User Contributions & Verification

This section governs how listings, products, and prices are added to the platform.

A. Directory Listings & Claiming

  • Open Directory: Listings for shops or service providers may be created by Admins, Vendors, or Users.

  • Unclaimed Listings: If a business listing was created by a user or admin (and not the business owner), it will display a “Claim Listing” button. Business owners can use this feature to verify their ownership and take control of their page.

  • Accuracy: While we strive for accuracy, we do not physically verify the existence of every unclaimed shop listed in the directory.

B. User-Generated Content (Products & Services) Users and Admins can add products, services, and price information to a specific shop’s listing to help the community.

  • Bill/Receipt Requirement: To prevent fake pricing, users must upload a valid bill or receipt to prove they purchased the product or consumed the service from that specific vendor.

  • Limited Verification: Our team checks that a receipt has been uploaded and appears relevant. However, we do not call the store to forensically verify the authenticity of every bill. We rely on the user’s good faith submission.

  • Platform Immunity: pricefinder.in is an intermediary. We are not liable for errors, outdated prices, or fake receipts submitted by users.

  • Data Freshness: We display a “Last Updated” date for each product or service. Customers should check this date to understand how old the price data is.

C. Dispute Resolution for Content If a vendor or user finds a price to be incorrect, fake, or misleading, they should contact us immediately at hello@pricefinder.in. We will investigate and remove the inaccurate content upon verification.

5. Product Images & Virtual Goods (Important)

  • Source of Images: Product images displayed may be user-uploaded or automatically populated from a generic master database. These images are for illustrative purposes only and may not match the actual product, model, color, or condition. We do not guarantee that the image matches the item delivered.

  • Virtual Products & Licensing: For software, digital downloads, or virtual services, pricefinder.in does not verify the licensing, copyright status, or validity of the files. It is the buyer’s sole responsibility to confirm that the vendor has the legal right to sell the content. We are not liable for any copyright infringement by vendors.

6. Ratings & Reviews Policy

To ensure trust, our review system operates in two distinct ways. All reviews are subject to Admin approval before appearing on the site.

A. Enquiry-Based Reviews (Verified Transaction)

  • How it works: Once an enquiry order status is marked as “Completed” on the platform, the “Rate” button becomes active.

  • Two-Way Ratings: The Customer can rate the product/shop, and the Vendor can rate the Customer.

  • Moderation: These reviews are sent to the Admin panel for approval to prevent abuse or spam.

B. External Reviews (Proof of Purchase Required)

  • How it works: Users who purchased a product/service from a vendor offline (not through a PriceFinder enquiry) can still leave a review using the “External Review” form.

  • Mandatory Proof: To prevent fake reviews, the user must upload a bill or receipt proving the purchase.

  • Process: This submission creates a review post in our system. The Admin team will check the attached receipt before approving the review for public display.

7. Payments & Transactions

  • Direct Payment to Vendors: For third-party listings, your payment (via UPI/Cash) goes directly to that shopkeeper. pricefinder.in does not hold these funds and cannot issue refunds for them.

  • Payments to PriceFinder: For items sold directly by pricefinder.in, payments are made to our official accounts. In this specific case, we handle the transaction and any applicable refunds.

  • Cash on Delivery (COD): Regardless of the seller, we highly recommend using Cash on Delivery for safety.

8. Order Fulfillment & Delivery

  • Shop Status & Availability: Vendors are solely responsible for updating their shop status (Open/Closed) and stock levels. pricefinder.in is not liable if you place an order with a shop that is physically closed or out of stock but failed to update their dashboard.

  • Disputes: Any dispute regarding delivery delay, damaged goods, or wrong items must be resolved directly with the vendor.

  • Policy on Bad Actors: While we are not liable for vendor errors, we take complaints seriously. Vendors who repeatedly fail to fulfill orders or update their status will be removed from the platform.

9. Privacy Policy

  • What We Collect: We collect your name, phone number, and order details to facilitate the transaction.

  • How We Use It: We share your order details with the specific vendor you ordered from so they can fulfill your request. We do not sell your data to unrelated third parties.

  • Legal Compliance: We process personal data in accordance with applicable Indian data protection laws.

  • Cookies: We use cookies to improve website performance and remember your preferences.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, pricefinder.in and its owners are NOT liable for:

  • Fraudulent actions by third-party vendors.

  • Money lost in direct transfers to third-party vendors.

  • Differences between product images and actual items received.

  • Errors in pricing data submitted by users or admins.

  • Exception: This limitation does not apply to claims directly related to products sold and invoiced by pricefinder.in itself.

11. Grievance & Takedown

If you find a fake listing, unlicensed content, or a vendor engaging in fraud, please report it to us.

  • Action: We will investigate and delete the listing if found to be violating our policies.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

  • Governing Law: These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.

  • Jurisdiction: Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

Use this platform at your own risk. By placing an order or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms. Use of this website constitutes electronic acceptance of these terms under applicable Indian law.
